Hunting Information

General

We offer hunters the opportunity to hunt in one of the worlds best hunting environments. With exclusivity in mind, you will receive our undivided attention during your hunt with your own hunting guide looking after you. No one else will be hunting the property while you are hunting.
Hunting can be done by walk and stalk or hunting from blinds/ tree stands.


Season

Red and Fallow deer can be hunted from March to August.


Equipment you will need

Comfortable waterproof hunting shoes/boots
Thick woollen socks
Bow with at least 2 dozen arrows and broad heads (Bow/Crossbow Hunters)
Camo - the temperature varies from 8 degrees celsius to  25 degrees celsius during the day
Wet weather camo (for those possibly wet days)
Range finder
Binoculars

HUNTING RIFLES CAN BE PROVIDED

Bow/ Crossbow Requirements

Small game - 30ft/lb
Medium game - 45ft/lb
Large Game - 55ft/lb


Animals

Possums - year round
Wild Pigs - year round
Wild Goats - year round
Arapawa Rams - year round
Fallow Deer - March to August
Red Deer - March to August

Permits

No permits are required to hunt at Waitotara Valley Estate.

Booking Policy
​
A 40% non-refundable deposit is required for a booking to secure your dates with us.Payment can be made via Direct Money Transfer. 
Balance of payment is required at completion of your stay/hunt.

Daily rate can include guiding fees, accommodation, Breakfast and transportation to and from Wanganui airport.
Wounded animals, which are not recovered, are considered hunted and are subject to payment.
