ABOUT WAITOTARA VALLEY
Waitotara Valley is located along the Waitotara River and accessed via the Waitotara Valley Road , one of New Zealands longest dead end roads. The lower catchment is largely reliant upon farming while the upper catchment remains as pristine forest, and is managed by Department Of Conservation (DOC) as the Waitotara Conservation Area. The area is also covered with patches of Manuka, a kind of tea tree, which is used for making Manuka Honey.
